Scott's View: The War in Afghanistan: 20 Years Later

Scott

We learned this week of the President’s decision to withdraw our last 2500 troops remaining in Afghanistan, effectively ending our longest war.

We have been on a military mission in the country for almost 20 years. 2,488 of our troops and personnel have died in this war. We mourn their loss. Another 20,722 Americans have been wounded. All have served with great honor, and we owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have sacrificed so much. And to them, we say, you are not forgotten.
