Thanksgiving and Christmas are upon us, and while this is a time of year that we traditionally spend with family, many of us will crave a much-needed break from our busy lives this holiday season. Whether you want to steal some warmth while it’s snowing buckets or create your own new tradition of Christmas in Paradise, these 5 pristine and affordable holiday vacation destinations won’t disappoint!

Puerta Vallarta, Mexico
A favorite amongst both young travelers and retirees, Puerta Vallarta is the perfect place to experience the flavor of Mexico while staying safe, healthy, and comfortable. With many luxurious resorts available and plenty of affordable flights, you can escape to the sunny beaches of Puerto Vallarta for a few days for far less than you would spend in many domestic locations. If you like Margaritas and sunshine, this could be the affordable vacation for you!

Caribbean Islands
Despite many Islands being devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, there are destinations that were left relatively unscathed and are available for a cheaper price than normal this holiday season. You’re probably wondering which islands you can still visit! Consider booking a trip to Aruba, St Lucia, or the Cayman Islands to get away.

Panama City, Panama
This modern city boasts delicious food and comfortable accommodations at affordable prices, especially around the holidays. The city also has several large shopping malls, perfect for buying unique last-minute gifts for friends and family, and you’ll also be close to beautiful beaches. For a vacation that has it all, split your stay between the city and the beach! Either way you’ll be warm and stress-free.

Lima, Peru
December is one of the cheapest times to visit the historic city of Lima, as it is the rainy season. If you aren’t scared of the chance of rain, you can book airfare for less than you would pay to many domestic locations. One you arrive in the city food and lodging are also very affordable and you can visit other locations, like Machu Picchu, via a short plane and bus ride.

Phuket, Thailand
If you love spicy foods and cold drinks, look no further than Phuket, Thailand! With classy accommodations and fresh seafoods available, you’ll feel like you’re living like royalty even though you are paying an extremely reasonable rate. There are many different types of beaches to experience in Phuket, each with different natural features, so make sure to visit several during your stay and possibly venture out to one of Thailand’s nearby islands for a more private beach experience.

Kauai, Hawaii
Enjoy the island culture and sip cool drinks by the beach when you travel to Kauai! Tickets to Hawaii aren’t as affordable as some of the other destinations on this list, but Kauai is home to many affordable resorts!

Miami, Florida
If traveling off the mainland  isn’t on your bucket list, you can still get plenty of sun without leaving the United States. Miami boasts flavors of the Cuban culture, including amazing food and a bustling nightlife ideal for those who want to dance the night away or just have a relaxing evening of fine dining.
