Scott’s Corner: Recognizing Veterans Week Partners

Scott Higgins

With another memorable Veterans Day behind us, we want to recognize our event sponsors, partners and supporters who provide valuable savings for our members.

All our Veterans Day event sponsors for 2021 are:

  • Northrop Grumman
  • Caliber Home Loans
  • Avis Rent A Car
  • Budget Car Rental
  • Dell
  • Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
  • 1-800-Flowers.com
  • FourBlock

All the partners in today’s Benefits Alert have a longstanding tradition of supporting those who served on Veterans Day each year through their VetRewards Exclusives, and through sponsoring our annual events.  This year continued that tradition with the virtual event “Heroes Meet Heroes,” which included a diversity of military and Olympic eras, branches of service and sports. The true star of the event were our members who provided great questions, and won valuable prizes. We hope to see you all there next year!

We want to take this opportunity to recognize our latest partner with a new offer. Paramount+  is owned by ViacomCBS, whose EVP and Chief Veteran Officer is Rich Jones. Rich served as a panelist with our “Heroes” event this year. Earlier, we honored Rich, a former Army Ranger, as a Veterans Advantage HeroVet and he continues to be an amazing advocate in support of his fellow veterans. Thanks to Rich and ViacomCBS for this terrific offer!

At 38-years old, he’s one of the youngest coaches to reach the Super Bowl and he’s aiming to become the third-youngest to win. Born in Boston, his competitor’s territory, he hails from a military family. His father, Hugh, graduated from West Point and served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1977, while his grandfather served in World War II and his aunts served in Vietnam as nurses.
