TopVet: Joseph A. Marengi, Dell Computer

Joseph A. Marengi

Joseph A. Marengi, serves as senior vice president for Dell’s Americas business.

From 1978 through 1981, Mr. Marengi served in the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

In this role at Dell, Mr. Marengi is responsible, along with Ro Parra, for the Dell Americas units serving corporate, government, education, healthcare, consumer and small and medium business customers in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

He also is responsible for Dell’s services business and for Dell’s manufacturing operations in Austin and Nashville.

Mr. Marengi, 48, joined Dell in July 1997 from Novell Inc., where he was president and chief operating officer. As president, he was responsible for strategy and the day-to-day operations of the company. He joined Novell in 1989 as vice president of the Eastern region and moved through successive promotions to become executive vice president of worldwide sales and field operations for Novell.

For 10 years prior to joining Novell, Mr. Marengi served as vice president of channel sales for Excelan, Inc. and in various other executive, sales and information management positions.

Mr. Marengi earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s in management from the University of Southern California.

Veterans Buried Overseas Will Be Further Honored by VA's Expanded Online Memorial

Now totaling over 10 million individual pages, the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) website, the nation's largest online memorial, recently underwent a significant expansion. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced on May 6th the addition of 210,000 new pages specifically honoring American veterans laid to rest and memorialized in overseas cemeteries and memorials managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).
