TopVet: Mike Shad, AutoNation, Inc.

Mike Shad

Mike Shad has served as Senior District Vice President - South Florida District for AutoNation, Inc. America’s largest automotive retailer, on and off the web, since November 1999. His responsibilities include supervising the operations of 30 dealerships in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

He joined AutoNation in 1997, when the Company acquired the award-winning Mike Shad Ford dealership and another Shad-owned Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep dealership in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Shad remained as President, managing the daily operations of these two dealerships, as well as the other four AutoNation operations in Jacksonville.

Mr. Shad, a Jacksonville native, graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Jacksonville University and is a Certified Public Accountant. In addition, Mr. Shad served five years in the U. S. Army, which included a year’s tour in Vietnam with the Green Berets.

Mr. Shad is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville and Leadership Florida and is a past Chairman of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross. He is a past President of the Jacksonville Auto Dealers Association, a former director of the Florida Auto Dealers Association and of the National Auto Dealers Association. Mr. Shad is also a past Chairman of the Ford National Dealer Council, representing all 4,500 Ford dealers.
