Steven S. Reinemund, who learned a lot about leadership as an officer in the Marine Corps, is the new Chairman of the Board and CEO of PepsiCo. Previously, the 16-year PepsiCo veteran had been the company’s president and chief operating officer and, prior to that, chairman and chief executive officer of Frito-Lay, PepsiCo’s largest division, which at the time had global sales of $11 billion. Mr. Reinemund began his career at PepsiCo in 1984, as senior operating officer of the company’s former Pizza Hut division.

Mr. Reinemund, a 1970 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, served five years in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of captain. He also holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Reinemund is only the fourth CEO in the history of PepsiCo.
