HBO Thanks Those Who Serve with Holiday DVD Donation to U.S. Military & Veterans
Home Box Office® and Veterans Advantage® announced a partnership to provide free DVDs to those who serve, administered through the Veterans Advantage benefit program, a national organization for all who serve, including U.S. Military, Veterans, National Guard, Reservists and their family members.

Based on the book, HBO produced a documentary of the same name, winning the cable industry’s first Prime-time Emmy in 1988 and an Academy Award nomination. The HBO produced movie also won the 1988 International Documentary Award, Television Critics Association Award, and Special Jury Prize from the Sundance Film Festival. Both the critically-acclaimed book and movie versions of “Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam” have become classics about the Vietnam War.
