Alaska Airlines

SEATTLE, June 20, 2018 - Veterans Advantage, PBC announced today a new partnership with Alaska Airlines that will offer discounted airfare for Veterans Advantage VetRewards CardTM members

The discount is valid for travel on Alaska Airlines to more than 115 destinations in the United States, including Hawaii, Mexico & Costa Rica, without blackout dates, and across all classes of service. VetRewards cardholders may also enroll in Alaska Mileage PlanTM, Alaska’s award-winning rewards program for loyal fliers, at no cost and will be eligible to earn points along with their discounted travel.

"We are thrilled to offer a discount to those who have served in our Armed Forces and are now Veterans Advantage members," said Mark Bocchi, Alaska Airlines managing director of sales and community marketing.

Active duty members of the military receive priority boarding for on all flights and up to five free checked bags when they and their dependents fly. Additionally, Alaska Air Cargo offers active-duty military personnel to ship their four-legged family members for $150 plus tax, no matter where they fly.

Honoring veterans and members of the military is part of Alaska Airlines’ DNA. Its employee-led program led the effort to design a military-themed Boeing 737-900ER, honoring the brave men and women of the armed forces and their families. Alaska’s employees have also spearheaded Alaska’s "Fallen Solider" program to ensure that the remains of any fallen soldiers are treated with respect and dignity upon arrival at nine airports across the country.

"We are honored that Alaska has joined our partner coalition," said Scott Higgins, co-founder and CEO of Veterans Advantage. "They offer world-class service and their commitment to its military customers is a perfect match with our member recognition program of delivering special thanks for service to our country."

The nationally-recognized VetRewards Card has been the official military ID for Veterans Advantage program members since President’s Day 2001, securely providing credentials for over 1 million active duty military, retirees, veterans, guard, and reservists for redemption of the program’s VetRewards Exclusive discounts. The VetRewards Card is also offered to the spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, son, or daughter of a U.S. service member or veteran, living or deceased.
