Almost daily, we are reminded of the fleeting lives of our “greatest generation,” those World War II warriors who won the war. Survivors alive today can tell the stories of epic battles, but they're all in their 90’s now and, sadly,  leaving us in great numbers. As somber as this reality is, it reminds us that we still have the opportunity to thank them for their service.

The story of the Tuskegee Airmen is an epic one. They broke down racial barriers and were the ultimate team players in helping the U.S. and its allies win the wars in Europe and the Pacific. They are national treasures. We have profiled several of the Tuskegee Airmen over the years, and are proud to be recognizing them again this Labor Day weekend. Be sure to read our Cover Story on them.

Be safe and stay healthy this Labor Day weekend.

Cover Story: How & Why WeSalute Was Founded 25 Years Ago

WeSalute founders Scott and Lin Higgins have spent a lifetime in the military community, from Scott’s combat service in Vietnam and the service of Lin’s father in WWII, to serving families and veterans through the creation of memorials and parades as part of charitable and government initiatives. It was this lifetime of service that led them to establish WeSalute, originally founded as Veterans Advantage, and to continue giving back.
