Looking Forward to a Better 2021

Scott's View

Like many Americans, I was horrified by the events in the U.S. Capitol last week. A spirit of unity was the tone we all tried to share when COVID first came into our lives, and we need to remind ourselves that there is strength in coming together as a nation once again. You may find some inspiration in this week’s feature profile of Retired Navy Rear Admiral Margaret Grun Kibben, who was just appointed Chaplain to the U.S. House of Representatives, and the first woman in our history to fill this vital role.

Teaming up with Barry Black, the first African-American to serve as the Senate’s Chaplain and a veteran, we hope Kibben’s own military-trained belief that “character matters” contributes to the healing process. And, no matter where you place your faith, we call on all Americans to pray that the guidance of our chaplains in Congress helps to bring healing to our nation.
