Scott’s View: Recognizing the 249 Years of Valor and Excellence of the United States Navy

Scott Higgins

This week we mark a momentous occasion in American history as we celebrate the 249th birthday of the United States Navy. On October 13th, 1775, just a few months after the U.S. Army was born, the Continental Congress authorized the creation of our second military branch - a naval force, laying the foundation for what would become the most powerful navy in the world.

Since its inception, the U.S. Navy has played a pivotal role in safeguarding our nation's interests, projecting power across the globe, and ensuring the freedom of the seas. From the American Revolution to the War on Terror, the brave men and women of the Navy have consistently demonstrated unwavering courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

May we continue to sleep well at night knowing peace prevails through their tireless efforts patrolling the seas near and far away.

We always look at the Navy’s birthday as the kickoff of a special period for those who served. Soon, the Marine Corps birthday and Veterans Day will be celebrated, and we’ll be announcing new offers and partners in the spirit of saluting you for your service. Stay tuned!
