Secretary of Defense Ash Carter has announced the following Department of Defense Senior Executive Service assignment:

Christopher "Kappy" Kapellas has been assigned as director, human resources directorate, Washington Headquarters Services, Washington, District of Columbia. Kapellas previously served as the deputy director, human resources directorate, Washington Headquarters Services, Washington, District of Columbia.

His father, Hugh, graduated from West Point and served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1977, while his grandfather served in World War II and his aunts served in Vietnam as nurses.
