WeSalute Joins the NYSE in Thanking Our Nation’s Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients

"What does true American heroism mean to you?"
WeSalute spent an unforgettable evening at the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday March 5th, honoring our Medal of Honor recipients, our nation's greatest heroes. Witnessing the closing bell, rung in tribute to the Congressional Medal of Honor “MOH” guests of the NYSE, was a powerful reminder of the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice that defines our nation. Our WeSalute Chairman Scott Higgins, CEO Lin Higgins, SVP of Marketing, Roy Asfar, and WeSalute Advisory Board Member David Caruth of Verizon VALOR were deeply appreciative of the opportunity to show WeSalute’s support of this significant occasion.
The honor of ringing of the closing bell was given to all the MOH recipients in attendance and served as another way to recognize the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of these American heroes. Among those attending a bell-ringing ceremony, traditionally the NYSE permits only one of the participants to ring the NYSE Bell. Each MOH participant was given a NYSE medallion as a commemorative token of having rung the closing bell.
WeSalute thanks the New York Stock Exchange, led by President Lynn Martin, who ceremoniously hosted the NYSE’s 17th Annual Circle of Honor Dinner to recognize these great Americans heroes, and their supporting organizations, The Congressional Medal of Honor Society, and The Medal of Honor Foundation. On behalf of the NYSE, President Martin accepted The Medal of Honor Foundation's Circle of Honor Award, its most prestigious award, from Gary Littrell, Medal of Honor Recipient and former President of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, in recognition of its unwavering commitment to Medal of Honor Recipients and their mission. The NYSE, with a notable history of supporting the U.S. military, brought a profound sense of perspective, reminding those present of the principles that the nation is built on.
Why the Medal of Honor is so important
Our nation's Medal of Honor recipients are those who, with all humility, will tell you they are ordinary people, and yet they all served with great valor and enormous sacrifice for our country.
WeSalute has a long and cherished history of honoring and supporting Medal of Honor recipients. Our commitment is deeply ingrained in our mission to deliver greater respect, recognition and rewards to those who serve our country and their families. From our WeSalute Chair Scott Higgins’s service on the board of the Medal of Honor Foundation to our tradition of gifting WeSalute+ memberships with medical travel insurance to MOH recipients or their widows, our WeSalute dedication to honoring their legacy will always run deep.
And longtime WeSalute partner, CVS Health, was a sponsor of the evening event.
Last night, we also took several moments to remember the late Paul W. "Bud" Bucha, Medal of Honor recipient from his Vietnam War service as an Army Captain, who served a valued member of our WeSalute Advisory Board since our company’s inception. Many of his fellow MOH recipients dearly miss Bud, as do we.
Very few things in life are so awe-inspiring as meeting unique individuals who would give, as Americans, their everything without asking for anything in return. We were both awed and inspired by this evening shared with America’s true heroes.
