IMAX and Veterans Advantage Host Advance Private Screening of “Ford v Ferrari” for Active Duty, Veterans, and Family Members on Veterans Day

Veterans Week NYC & WeSalute (Veterans Advantage)

Veterans Advantage, PBC and IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX), will be presenting a free, private advance movie screening on Veterans Day, featuring 20th Century Fox's "Ford v Ferrari."

The Monday, November 11th private screening is for military, veterans, and their families, including Veterans Advantage members. The film stars two Academy Award-winning actors: Matt Damon ("The Martian," "Good Will Hunting") as the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby, and Christian Bale ("The Fighter," "The Big Short") as the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles.

The movie profiles a thrilling 1966 run for victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race, the world's oldest active sports car race in endurance racing.

Both also served in the military. Shelby enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps, serving in World War II as a flight instructor and test pilot. Miles was a tank commander for the British Army in World War II.

The private advance screening will start at 7 pm at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 theater, at 1998 Broadway. Veterans, active duty military and their families attending the event will get free popcorn, soft drinks, and goodie bags from IMAX.

Attendees can enter a raffle to win prizes, including travel giveaways from Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Avis and Budget car rental, Dell computers, gifts from 1800Flowers, and free VetRewards subscriptions from Veterans Advantage.

"Our movie screenings have become synonymous with Veterans Day in New York City, thanks to our friends at IMAX," said Scott Higgins, Co-Founder of Veterans Advantage. Higgins is also one of the founders of Veterans Week NYC. "To see this before the public release of the film is an extra thrill this year."

Over the past several years, IMAX and Veterans Advantage have held special private screenings for veterans and active duty military including:

  • “Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam”

  • “Lone Survivor,” starring Mark Wahlberg as Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell

  • “Unbroken,” the biopic of WWII prisoner of war Louis Zamperini, Army Veteran
