New York, NY
November 10, 2016

Veterans Advantage, PBC will host the fifth annual Heroes Meet Heroes, sponsored by Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC), as U.S. military personnel, veterans, and their family members meet world class competitors representing the New York Athletic Club (NYAC), which brought home a record 23 medals from the Rio Olympic games.

American heroes from the U.S. military and sports communities – sharing the common traits of strength, resilience, and commitment to excellence – will be recognized in the club's iconic Trophy Room, surrounded by awards won by the NYAC's athletes. Donna de Varona, a two-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer and recipient of the Olympic Order, the highest award of the Olympic movement, will be the master of ceremonies for the event.

"Each year the energy in the room has been tremendous as we mark the Veterans Day weekend and offer our heartfelt thanks to those who served our country and their families," said de Varona. "We expect the 2016 event to be particularly memorable, as the NYAC Olympians have just returned from Rio with a record-setting performance.”

Guests from the veterans’ community – ranging from VIPs, active duty military, and Veterans Advantage members – will be greeted by Scott Higgins, Veterans Advantage co-founder, CEO and a Vietnam War Army Lieutenant. Paul Bucha, Medal of Honor recipient, West Point Graduate, and Veterans Advantage Advisory Board Member is a guest speaker.

Cedric Jones, Athletic Director of the NYAC, former Duke University and NFL star is the special Guest of Honor.

"We are delighted to be once again partnering with the New York Athletic Club to recognize the unique spirit of service shared by our military and their athletes," said Lin Higgins, co-founder, and COO of Veterans Advantage, who conceived of Heroes Meet Heroes as part of Veterans Week NYC. "Their world-class talent are a source of inspiration for all Americans, and we are grateful that Northrop Grumman has stepped up to sponsor this event to provide a wonderful opportunity for these special Americans to meet each other.”
