Scott's View: July 4 Sentiments

Our sentiments on Independence Day that I wanted to share it with you

I received the following from a great friend John Pinto and his lovely spouse, Donna de Varona, the Olympic Champion and Veterans Advantage Advisory Board member. It reflects so well our sentiments on Independence Day that I wanted to share it with you.

"When thinking of the significance of this upcoming Independence Day, we wanted to reach out to our close friends and business associates to spread some patriotic cheer and reflection. We're taking pause to appreciate the compassion, vision, and courage our founding fathers displayed centuries ago.

To commemorate the 4th, we have enclosed a miniature American flag for your enjoyment. We leave the perfectly (?) grilled means and vegetables, cherished family and friends, and brilliant fireworks part of the holiday festivities up to you!

We hope you have a wonderful July 4th, and may the spirit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness continue to guide you and your loved ones.

Best wishes and warmest personal regards."

We wish everyone a happy and safe Independence Day holiday, with gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy today in this great nation. We also remember the tremendous sacrifice at the Battle of Gettysburg 150 years ago this week -- the inspiration for President Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address."
