Scott's View: Memorial Day Reflections
Scott Higgins, WeSalute Co-founder & Co-CEO
As the bombing in Manchester, England proved earlier this week, the peace and safety of a nation is precious and, many times, underappreciated... until they are gone. This Memorial Day weekend, we call on all our members to recognize and acknowledge those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedoms we enjoy today. Take time this holiday weekend to reach out to the families you know who have lost loved ones in service to our country. They need to know that their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten and that we are eternally grateful to them.
And remind others that these lives were not lost in vain.
Finally, as we do each year, let's all remember to show our support by setting an example. At 3 pm your local time on Memorial Day Monday, pause for one minute, alone or with friends, to honor those who died in service to the United States This National Moment of Remembrance is an act of national unity and we urge everyone to participate. Whether you are at a ballgame, beach, or backyard BBQ, set an alarm on your watch or smartphone and take that moment. You will be glad you did. Thank you.
