Scott's View: 9/11's Enduring Remembrance

Scott Higgins

In the spirit of our mission to honor service and sacrifice, our attention turns to a date of solemnity and significance: the 24th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-four years ago, our nation was brought to its knees, but in the face of unimaginable tragedy, we also witnessed an outpouring of strength, unity, and unwavering resolve. Today we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 victims at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and we hold their families and loved ones in our thoughts. In the face of that unimaginable tragedy, we also pay tribute to the immense bravery of the first responders—the firefighters, police officers, and paramedics who ran toward danger to save others, without a second thought. Their selfless sacrifice, and the lasting health effects many still endure, will never be forgotten.

At WeSalute, our mission is to advocate for A Real Thank You® for those who serve. This includes honoring the memory of those who were lost on 9/11 and recognizing all who have served since—from the brave men and women who answered the call to protect our country in the wars that followed, to the countless first responders and everyday citizens who embody the spirit of service and resilience.
