Military & Veterans Life

Scott's View: Black History Month 2022 & Military Veterans

Scott's View

With the start of Black History Month, we want to share with you one of our military's most famous stories of service,  the legendary Tuskegee Airmen of World War II.

In the face of great odds, they represent one of the most inspiring stories of World War II. Facing the challenges of persistent racism in the States, they found a shared passion for flight and performed with great courage, honor and success in the air battles of the European theatre. Like so many of our nation's World War II veterans, the Tuskegee Airmen are leaving us. One of their best-known, General Charles McGee, died last month at 102.

We must do our part to remember them. Today's story is a start. We’ll have more coverage each week on our blog during Black History Month.
