As the unofficial start of summer kicks off, marked by barbecues and gatherings, it’s vital to pause and reflect on the true significance of Memorial Day. This Monday, we don't just celebrate a day off; we solemnly remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

At WeSalute, our commitment to the military community runs deep. Founded before the events of 9/11, our ethos has always been rooted in a profound respect for the unique sacrifices made by those who have worn the uniform. We understand that service extends beyond duty tours; it’s a commitment that often demands the highest price.

For us, Memorial Day isn't a marketing opportunity. It's a sacred day to honor the fallen, to remember their names, their stories, and the futures that were tragically cut short. It's a time to acknowledge the enduring pain felt by their families and loved ones.

From our earliest days to the present, our mission has been to tangibly recognize the dedication and service of our military, veterans, and their families. We strive to provide meaningful benefits and resources as a small token of our immense gratitude.

What is the National Moment of Remembrance?

This Memorial Day weekend, as you enjoy time with family and friends, please take a moment to remember the true cost of our freedoms. We encourage you to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance on Monday at 3:00 PM your local time, a unified opportunity to pause and honor the fallen.

The National Moment of Remembrance, was signed by President Bill Clinton in December of 2000, ironically, just 9 months before the tragic events of 9/11. So the meaning has been deep ever since.

Veterans Buried Overseas Will Be Further Honored by VA's Expanded Online Memorial

Now totaling over 10 million individual pages, the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) website, the nation's largest online memorial, recently underwent a significant expansion. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced on May 6th the addition of 210,000 new pages specifically honoring American veterans laid to rest and memorialized in overseas cemeteries and memorials managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).
