Scott's View: National Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Scott Corner

Every year, on the Friday before Mother’s Day, we honor spouses of our U.S. military through National Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Today’s that day!

We believe that “when one in the family serves, the whole family serves.” Today, we honor the contributions and sacrifices made by the hundreds of thousands of military spouses, men and women. Military spouses’ tireless support runs in the background 24 hours a day, while our military defends us on the front lines. Their commitment and support help to keep our country safe. Each day they bolster the nation's strength, and serve as heroes and role models for us all.

Continuing our coverage for May, Military Appreciation Month, we honor Kathryn Cross. A close friend, and supporter of our mission, she honors the legacy of her late son as a Gold Star Mother. We hope you enjoy learning about this talented artist, tireless veteran advocate and remarkable woman.
