Scott's View: The USO Tours Visit the Troops Once Again

Scott Higgins

We hope you enjoy this week’s VetFamily feature on actress Elizabeth Banks. Elizabeth is known for her movie roles in “Hunger Games” and “Pitch Perfect,” and currently with the popular game show “Press Your Luck.”

Banks’s father served in the Navy in the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam War, and she recalls the challenges of military service as the reason she has chosen to be a regular on USO Tours today. The tours have profoundly changed her life. As longtime partners and advocates for the USO, we applaud her efforts and contributions to them.

And by the way, the USO is back from the pandemic! It made its first in-person visit to the troops this summer, visiting Ft. Hood, Guantanamo Bay, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, Naval Base San Diego, and Marine Corps Air Base Miramar. Fans were met by Miss America Camille Schrier, actor Kyle Chandler, country recording artists LOCASH, and others. Hats off to the USO!
