Vet News: SAIC Launches Military Health System Advisory Council
Science Applications International Corporation’s (SAIC) Enterprise & Health Solutions Business Unit today announced the formation of the Military Health System (MHS) Advisory Council.
The MHS Advisory Council will be composed of six retired senior healthcare leaders, all noted experts in military healthcare, who will help SAIC strategize and design innovative solutions for itself and its teammates to meet the growing and complex needs of military customers.
The MHS Advisory Council of retired military healthcare leaders represents all military services and will be led by former U.S. Army Surgeon General, Lieutenant General (ret.) Ronald R. Blanck, currently President of the University of North Texas Health Science Center. The Council also includes former U.S. Navy Surgeon General and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, Vice Admiral (ret.) Harold M. Koenig; Major General (ret.) Harold L. Timboe, currently Director of the Center for Public Health Preparedness and Biomedical Research; Major General (ret.) Robert A. Buethe, Jr., formerly Director of Medical Programs and Resources for the U.S. Air Force Surgeon General; Rear Admiral (ret.) Alberto Diaz, Jr., (Navy) formerly the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery; and Major General, (ret.) Thomas Lee Rodgers, formerly Commander of the 59th Medical Wing at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
